The end customer is a company that installs fire protection systems based on the use of nitrogen, for use in facilities where the use of water is not desired (e.g. offices). They also take care of filling firefighter cylinders with N₂. In both cases, the nitrogen purity required is not very high and can be limited to 99.9%. That's why the system we developed and built was also set to 99.9% N₂ purity when shipped.

However, since the client wanted to use the full potential of the generator (since the consumption of N₂ for fire extinguishers and fire systems is not constant by definition), they wanted to be able to use the system to regulate the purity of N₂ from 99.9 to 99.999%, so that they would be able to fill cylinders with N₂ for other purposes that require much higher purity.

So we responded to their request by installing an automatic system which enables the regulation of three purities of N₂: 99.9%, 99.99% and 99.999%, thanks to our 0-1000ppm oxygen sensor/analyser and valves that can be controlled according to the measurement function of this same analyser.

The advantage of such configuration and system for the customer is that when they want to produce a higher purity of N₂, no N₂ is lost: they can continue to fill their cylinders that require a lower purity of N₂ and switch to the application that requires higher purity when this is achieved. Therefore, there is no need to install an additional purity control system that would release N₂ produced with insufficient purity into the environment.
