Opening of the first Omega Air Micro biogas plant
With the opening on Tuesday 16th of June, the micro biogas plant (MiBP) development project was successfully completed.
The plant was opened by Omega Air Group general manager Mr. Edvard Sojer and technical manager Mr. Alojz Dobnikar, as well as the director of the Agriculture institute prof. dr. Andrej Simončič. Omega Air company launched the project in the autumn of 2013 in cooperation with the Agricultural institute of Slovenia, where the MiBP is located. The purpose of the project was to build a demonstration plant with a testing facility for technical and microbiological analyses. The plant has an installed cogeneration unit with 7 kW of electrical power and 16 kW heat power. Covering 24 m3, the bioreactor daily processes 1.2 tonnes of substrate mixture.
